During his tenure as State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Bihar, from 25 April 2017 to 24 April 2021, Dr. Shivajee Kumar implemented a wide range of initiatives, blending legal enforcement, policy advocacy, and grassroots outreach to uphold the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. His tenure is marked by the following achievements:
Statewide Review and Coordination – Conducted 1,116 district, sub-divisional, and block-level review meetings with departmental officials, district magistrates, and panchayati raj representatives to ensure compliance with RPwD Act provisions.
Grievance Redressal – Resolved over 7,800 individual complaints received through written applications, emails, WhatsApp messages, and voice recordings, ensuring time-bound redressal.
